Materials: Lana Grossa "Spazio" (50% merino extra fin, 50% polyacrylic, running length approx 55 yrd/50 g): approx 400 g purple/pink (col 7); knitting needles size 13.
Knotted edge: Slip 1. st of each row kwise. Work last st in each row K.
Moss stitch: Alt K1, P1. Shift sts after each row.
Cable: Work acc knitting pattern across 12 sts. Nos to the right indicate RS rows. In WS rows work sts P. Vertically always rep 1. – 16. row.
Gauge: 8 sts and 14,5 rows = 9 x 10 cm (approx 3,5" x 4"), moss st with needles size 13.
Instruction: Cast on 30 sts. Work sts in foll sequence: Selv st as knotted edge, 8 sts moss st, 12 sts cable, 8 sts moss st, selv st as knotted edge. After 160 cm from beg co sts. Across mall sides work 11 fringes each made from 3 threads each of 40 cm length and tie in, fringes should measure approx 18 cm in the end.
Materials: Lana Grossa yarn "Arya Big" (60% new wool merino, 30% polyacrylic, 10% polyamide, running length approx 55 yrd/50 g): approx 100 g pink (col 1); double pointed needles size 8, 1 crochet hook size J-6; 1 piece of cardboard approx 20 x 10 cm (approx 8” x 4”).
Ribs: Alt K1, P1.
Half fisherman's rib in rnds: 1. rnd: * K1, P1, always rep from *. 2. rnd: * Sl1 with yo1 pwise, P1, always rep from *. 3. rnd: * ktog sts and yos of prev rnd, P1, always rep from *. After 3. rnd always rep 2. and 3. rnd.
Half fisherman's rib in rows: 1. row = WS row: Selv st, * P1, K1, always rep from*, P1, selv st. 2. row: Selv st, * sl1 with yo1 pwise, P1, always rep from *, sl1 with yo1 pwise, selv st. 3. row: Selv st, * ptog st and yo of prev row, K1, always rep from *, ptog st and yo of prev row, selv st. After 3. row always rep 2. and 3. row.
Bobble: Cast on 4 chain sts. Crochet 4 tr = treble crochet each drawn through up to last loop into 1. chain st. Then draw all loops on needle through 1 new yo. Crochet 3 chain sts and another 4 trs as described where sts were drawn through. Then draw all loops on needle through 1 new yo again. Now fold up trs where sts were drawn through, this means that trs are placed exactly on top of each other, join with 1. chain st of cast on with 1 sl st. Draw thread through loop again and leave thread for sewing tog later.
Gauge:8 sts and 20,5 rnds = 10 x 10 cm (approx 4" x 4"), half fisherman’s rib with needles size 11.
Instruction:Cast on 42 with dpns. Arrange sts as evenly as possible on 4 needles and join into ring. For band work 2,5 cm = 4 rnds in ribs. Then cont in half fisherman’s rib in rnds. After 12,5 cm = 26 rnds from end of band start dec for tip: to do so mark 3x 14 sts each, thereby start with 1 K st of half fisherman’s rib. In foll rnd work 1. – 3. st of 14 marked sts as foll = Sl1 kwise, ktog foll 2 sts and psso, then ptog 8. – 10. st of 14 marked sts = 30 sts. In foll 3. rnd mark 5x 6 sts each, thereby start with 1 K st of half fisherman’s rib and always work 1. – 3. sts of marked sts as described above = 20 sts. In foll 2. rnd mark 2x 10 sts each, thereby start with 1 K st of half fisherman’s rib and always work 1. – 3. sts of 10 marked sts as described above, ptog 6. – 8. of 10 marked sts. Pull tog rem 12 sts with working thread. Weave in ends thoroughly. For visor cast on 19 sts. Work half fisherman’s rib in rows. In 3. row start roundings on both sides for shaping piece. To do so work short rows, this means knitting 3 sts less at end of each foll row, turn work with yo1, cont until only 7 center sts are left. Then work 1 row across all sts, thereby work yos of short rows tog with adjoining st and at the same time co all sts. Then work 2. visor alike. Place both visor pieces on top of each other, WS on WS, and crochet tog at rounding with 1 sc. Then cut 1 visor from cardboard piece acc illustration – it shows 1 half up to broken line. Place it between both knitted visors. Then sew visor to cap acc image. Sew bobble to tip of cap.
