Materials: Lana Grossa "Aran" (40% new wool merino, 30% baby alpaca, 28% polyamide, 2% elastane, running length = 142 yrd/50 g) 600 (700) g petrol (col 23); knitting needles size 10 and 10,5/11 US); 4 snaps in silver, 30 mm Ǿ (Prym, art. 341260).
Seed pattern: 

Alt K1, P1. Shift sts in every row.
Reversed stockinette stitch:  Work sts P in RS rows and K in WS rows.
Half fisherman’s rib:

1. row: Selv st, *sl1 pwise with yo1, K1, always rep from *, end row with sl1 with yo1 pwise, selv st. 2. row: Selv st, * ktog yo and sl st of prev row, P1, always rep from *, end row with ktog sl st and yo of prev row, selv st. Always rep 1. and 2. row.
Shell pattern:  No of sts divisible by 7. 1. row: Work all sts K. 2. row and 4. row:  Work all sts and yos P. 3. row: *K1, yo1, P1, p3tog, P1, yo1, K1; always rep from *. Always rep 1. – 4. row.
Accented cast off:Right edge: Selv st, p2tog. Left edge: P2tog selv st. 
Gauge:Shell patt with needles size 10,5/11: 15 sts and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4" x 4").
Back:Cast on 79 (93) sts with needles size 10,5/11 and work in shell patt, thereby work patt rep between selv sts 11 (13) x. When work measures 91,5 cm from beg co 23 (25) center sts for neckline and finish both sides separately. Thereby co another 1 x 2 (3) sts after 2 rows on edge of neckline. Simultaneously after 2 rows from beg of neckline co 13 (16) sts for shoulder slant and after another 2 rows co rem 13 (15) sts. 
Left front:Cast on 43 (50) sts with needles size 10,5/11 and work foll sequence of sts from right edge: Selv st, 36 (43) sts shell patt, thereby work patt rep 5 (6) x and end row with 1. st of patt rep, then work 5 sts in small seed st for border, then work all foll selv sts K. When work measures 62,5 cm from beg co 1 st on left edge for neckline slant, then in every 4. row co another 16 x 1 st (in every 2. row 4 x 1 st, then in every 4. row another 14 x 1 st) and work acc co. When neckline measures 29,5 cm work shoulder slant like for back piece. 
Right front:Work in reverse.
Sleeve:Cast on 43 sts with needles size 10 and work half fisherman’s rib. When work measures 9 cm cont with needles size 10,5/11 in shell patt, thereby dec 6 sts evenly in 1. row and work patt rep between selv sts 5 x = 37 sts. For sleeve slant inc 10 x 1 st on both sides in every 8. row = 57 sts. Integrate sts into shell patt. When work measures 50 cm from beg co all sts in one go.
Finishing:

Join shoulder seams. For collar begin at point of neckline of left front piece to pick up 44 (47) sts each from front pieces with needles size 10 from inside and from back edge of neckline pick up 27 (31) sts = 115 (125) sts. Work half fisherman’s rib, thereby always work selv sts K. When collar measures 17 cm co sts. Make sure that center of sleeve meets shoulder line when you sew in sleeves. Join side and sleeve seams. Sew on snaps to center of border, to outside of left front piece and to inside of right front piece. Sew 1. snap spaced approx 24 cm apart from lower edge, sew rem snaps spaced approx 11 cm apart each.
