g) 450 g mottled brown (col 3), one pair 5.5 mm needles, one 5.5 mm crochet hook. |

10 cm or 4” square. |
| Back: |
cast on 98 sts and cont between edge
sts in basic pattern. For hip shaping dec 1 st at each end on 9th row, then 1 st on every
10th row 4 times. After 22 cm or 8 5/8” inc for side shaping 1 st at each end once,
then 1 st on every 10th row 4 times. After 37 cm or 14 1/2” from beginning bind off
for armholes 5 sts at each end, then on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts and 1 st twice =
74 sts. After 54 cm or 21 1/4” from beginning bind off for neck the 14 center sts and
finish each side separately, at neck edge bind off on every alt row 4 sts once and 3 sts
twice. After 57 cm or 22 1/2” from beginning bind off rem 20 shoulder sts. |
| Left Front: |
cast on 26 sts and cont in basic
pattern, at right edge work hip shaping, side shaping and armhole as given for back. For
front rounding inc on every alt row 3 sts 3 times, 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 9 times, working
inc in patt. After 40 cm or 15 3/4” from beginning bind off for neck 1 st on 1st row,
then on every alt row 1 st 10 times and 1 st on every 4th row 7 times. Bind off rem 20
shoulder sts. |
| Right Front: |
work in reverse to left front.
Sleeves: cast on 50 sts and cont in basic pattern, for sleeve shaping inc 1 st at each end
on 13th row, then 1 st on every 10th row 11 times, work inc sts in pattern = 74 sts. After
43 cm or 17” from beginning bind off for sleeve top at each end on every alt row 3
sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st twice, then 1 st on every 4th row 4 times and again on every
alt row 1 st 3 times, 2 sts 3 times and 3 sts 3 times, bind off rem 16 sts. |
| Finishing: |
join shoulder, side and sleeve
seams. Along all edges (lower edge, front edge and neck, sleeve edge) crochet 1 row sc,
then crochet border. Sew sleeves in position. |
