DRAPE-FRONT JACKET
 
Material:
approx. 7 (8, 9) balls (approx. 247yd/225m each) of Lana Grossa Fumato (42% extrafine merino wool, 40% polyamide, 18% baby alpaca) in olive/green (col 16); size 8 [5mm] needles.
Chain Stitch Selvage:
on every row, sl first st pwise wyif, k last st. Note: work chain st selvage throughout!
St st:
k on RS; p on WS.
Gauge:
20 sts and 26 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st.
Fronts and Back:
worked side to side in one piece. Arrow on schematic shows direction of work! Cast on 162 sts for left front and work in St st for 15 (15 1/4, 15 3/4)” [38 (39, 40) cm], ending with a WS row. Shape left armhole: work 85 sts and sl to holder. Bind off next 32 sts for armhole. Work remaining 45 sts. Cont in St st and bind off 2 sts at right edge of work (= at armhole) twice, then cast on 2 sts at right edge twice. Sl these 45 sts to holder. Sl 85 sts from holder to needle, cont in St st and bind off 2 sts at left edge of work (= at armhole) twice, then cast on 2 sts at left edge twice. Next, work in St st across all sts and cast on 32 sts over bound-off sts – 162 sts. Cont in St st until back measures 14 1/4 (15, 15 3/4)” [36 (38, 40) cm] from cast-on row of left armhole, then work right armhole same as for left armhole. Work right front same as for left front, then bind off all sts loosely.
Sleeves:
cast on 82 sts, work in St st and shape sleeve as foll: dec 1 st each end of needle on 9th (9th, 31st) row from cast-on, then every foll 6th (12th, 30th) row 9 (5, 1) times – 62 (70, 78) sts. Cont in St st until sleeve measures 11 (12 1/2, 13 3/4)” [28 (32, 35) cm] from cast-on. Place markers at right and left edge. Shape sleeve cap: dec 1 st each end of needle on next row, then every other row 15 (10, 6) times more. Bind off remaining 30 (48, 64) sts.
Finishing:
pin piece to measurements and block with damp towels. Sew sleeve seams to markers. Sew in sleeves.
BEANIE
 
Material:

St st:
k on RS; p on WS.
Single Crochet [sc]:
k every rnd.
Gauge:
worked in rows. Work first row in knitted cast-on sts. Beg row with 1ch. Work 1sc in every sc of previous row. To work 2sc tog [sc2tog], insert hook into next st, yarn over hook, draw a loop through; rep this step into next st [3 loops on hook], yarn over hook and draw through all loop on hook to complete.
Gauge:
20 sts and 26 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st.
Hat:
cast on 130 sts. Beg with a WS row, work in St st until hat measures 6 1/4“ [16 cm] from cast-on. Next dec row: k1 * k5, k2tog, rep from * 17 times, end k3 – 18 sts decreased and 112 sts remain on the needle. Work 1 row even. Next dec row: k1 * k4, k2tog, rep from * 17 times, end k3 – 94 sts. Work 1 row even. Next dec row: k1, * k3, k2tog, rep from * 17 times, end k3 – 76 sts. Work 1 row even. Next dec row: k1, * [k2tog] twice, rep from * 17 times, end k2tog, k1 – 57 sts. Work 1 row even. Next dec row: * k1, k2tog, rep from * 17 times, end k2tog, k1 – 38 sts. Work 3 rows even. Next dec row: k2tog to end of row – 19 sts. Work 1 row even. Next dec row: k2tog to end of row – 10 sts. Cut yarn, draw yarn end through remaining 10 sts, pull tight and weave in end.

With crochet hook, join yarn with sl st to cast-on edge and work sc2tog to end of row – 65sc. Work 6 more rows in sc, working 1sc in every sc of previous row. Fasten off. With thinner yarn in matching color, sew seam with mattress stitch and carefully weave in end.
