Material:
approx. 1 (1, 2) balls (approx. 231yd/210m each) of Lana Grossa Silkhair (70% superkid mohair, 30% silk) in grey/green (col 12); size 3 [3.25mm] needles.
Garter st:
k every row.
Lace Pattern:
work according to chart. Numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows; on WS rows p all sts and yo’s. Beg chart pat with sts before first arrow, work 4 sts between arrows for pat rep, end with sts after 2nd arrow. Repeat rows 1-12 throughout.
Gauge:
21 sts and 32 rows = 4” [10 cm] in lace pat.
Wrist Warmers [make 2]:
cast on 39 (43, 47) sts. K first [WS] row, then work in lace pat according to chart and shape wrist warmer as foll: inc 1 st each end of needle on 36th row from cast-on, then every foll 36th row once, then every foll 34th row twice – 47 (51, 55) sts. Work increased sts into lace pat. Cont in pat as established until piece measures 17 3/4“ [45 cm] from cast-on. Work 4 rows in garter st, then bind off all sts loosely.
Finishing:
pin pieces to measurements and block with damp towels. Sew seams, making sure seams stay flat.

Lace Pattern:
work according to chart on page 54. Numbers at right edge of chart indicate RS rows; on WS rows, p all sts and yo’s. Chart shows rows 1-44 in their entirety. Work rows 1-44 once, then repeat rows 21-44 throughout, continuing to work M1r incs at each edge as charted. One entire pat rep is shown in grey on chart.
Crocheted Border:
worked back and forth in rows according to crochet chart A. Numbers at right and left edge of chart indicate beg of rows. Beg each row with number of ch sts indicated on chart. Join first [WS] row with sl st to first bound-off st of knitted piece. Beg chart pat with sts before first arrow, work sts between arrows for pat rep, end with sts after 2nd arrow. Work dc groups and sc sts on rows 3 and 4 into ch arches of previous row. Work rows 1-4 once.
Picot Border:
worked over 2 rows according to crochet chart B. Numbers at right and left edge of chart indicate beg of rows. Beg rows with 2ch (count as 1sc) as charted. Join first [WS] row with sl st to last bound-off st of knitted piece. Beg chart pat with sts before first arrow, work 2 sts between arrows for pat rep, end with sts after 2nd arrow. Work rows 1-2 once.
Gauges:
17.5 sts and 32 rows = 4” [10 cm] in lace pat; 3.5 arches and 4 rows of crocheted border = 4“ x 1 1/2“ [10 x 3.5 cm].
Shawl:
with shorter circular needle, cast on 6 sts and work in lace pat according to chart, inc 1 st at each edge on every RS row. Change to longer circular needle as st count increases. When shawl measures 39 3/4“ [101 cm] from cast-on, bind off all sts loosely.
Finishing:
pin piece to measurements and block with damp towels. Beg with a WS row and sc, work crocheted border according to crochet chart A along side edges = 46 arches at each side edge and 1 arch at point. Work Picot border along bind-off edge. Weave in all ends.
