Materials: Lana Grossa quality "New Cotton Print", 60% cotton, 40% micro-fibers (polyamide), approx 250 (300) g pink (col 206), one pair size 7 mm needles and one size 6 mm crochet hook.
Basic patt: 1st row (= right side): edge st, * P1, K7, P1, rep from *, edge st. 2nd (= return row): work sts as set. Rep rows 1 and 2 for patt.
Cable patt 1 (2): see diagram 1 (2). Right side and wrong side rows are given. Sts are given as they appear on front. Work rows 1 - 8: 10 (11) times, then rows 81 (89) - 136 (146) once. 1 square = 1 st and 1 row. (This instruction applies to both diagrams.)
Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows to 10 cm or 4" square (basic patt with size 7 mm needles).
Front: cast on 85 (93) sts using size 7 mm needles and work cable patt 1 (2). When work measures 31.5 (34.5) cm or 12 ½ (13 ½)" bind off for armholes at each end on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts once (twice) and 1 st 4 (6) times. When work measures 34.5 (37.5) cm or 14 (14 ¾)" divide work at center for V-neck and cont over sts of left front. When work measures 51.5 (55.5) cm or 20 ¼ (21 7/8)" bind off for shoulder at right edge on every alt row 6 sts once and 7 sts once. Work 2nd half in reverse, for shoulder shaping cast off at left edge on every alt row 5 sts once and 6 sts once.
Back: cast on 85 (93) sts using size 7 mm needles, cont in cable patt 1 (2), in doing so rep row 1-8. When work measures 31.5 (34.5) cm or 12 ¾ (13 ½)" bind off for armholes at each end on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts once (twice) and 1 st 4 (6) times. When work measures 49.5 (53.5) cm or 19 ½ (21)" bind off for neck work 39 center sts. At neck edge bind off on every alt row 2 sts once and 1 st once. When work measures 51.5 (55.5) cm or 20 ¼ (21 7/8)" bind off for shoulder shaping on every alt row 5 sts once and 6 sts once.
Sleeves: cast on 54 (56) sts using size 7 mm needles and cont in basic patt, center patt. For sleeve shaping inc 1 st at each end on every alt row 6 (7) times. When work measures 5.5 (6) cm or 2 ¼ (2 3/8)" bind off for sleeve top at each end on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 3 times, then 1 st on every 4th row twice and again on every alt row 1 st 7 times, 2 sts 2 (3) times and 3 sts once. When work measures 20 (21.5) cm or 7 7/8 (8 ½)" bind off rem sts. Work 2nd sleeve alike.
Finishing: block pieces to measurements and cover with a damp cloth. Join seams, compensating the different number of sts of left shoulder within cable sts. Round neck crochet 1 round crab sts (= sc from left to right).
