Material:
approx. 9 (10, 11) balls (approx. 137yd/125m each) of Lana Grossa Secondo (55% cotton, 25% polyamide, 20% silk) in dark grey (col 34); size 6 (4mm) needles, size D/3 (3mm) crochet hook.
St st:
k on RS; p on WS.
Crocheted trim A:
worked back and forth in rows according to chart A. Numbers on right and left edge of chart indicate beg of rows. Beg chart pat with sts before first arrow, rep sts bet arrows across row, end with sts after 2nd arrow. With crochet hook, join yarn with sl st to knitted piece. Beg each row with number of ch sts indicated on chart. On row 3, work dc and sc, on row 4, work sc into ch arch of previous row. Work rows 1-4 once.
Crocheted trim B:
worked in rounds according to chart B. Numbers on chart indicate beg of rnds. With crochet hook, join yarn with sl st to knitted piece. Beg each rnd with number of ch sts indicated on chart. End rnds 1, 3 and 4 with sl st, end rnd 2 with 1dc. On rnd 3, work dc and sc, on rnd 4, work sc into ch arch of previous rnd. Work rnds 1-4 once.
Full-fashioned decreases:
at beg of row, SKP (sl1 kwise, k1, psso) 3 sts in from right edge; at end of row, work to last 5 sts, k2tog, work to end.
Gauges:
24 sts and 32 rows = 4” [10 cm] in St st; 2 patt reps and 4 rows/rnds = 4” x 1 1/2” [10 x 4 cm] in crocheted trim A and B.
Back:
cast on 98 (110, 122) sts and work in St st for 24 (26, 12) rows. Shape sides: working full-fashioned decreases, dec 1 st each end of needle on next row, then every foll 24th (20th, 20th) row 4 (5, 6) times more – 88 (98, 108) sts. Work even until back measures 15 (15 3/4, 16 1/2)” [38 (40, 42) cm]. Place markers at right and left edge for armholes. Work even until armhole measures 6 3/4 (7, 7 1/2)” [17 (18, 19) cm. Shape shoulders: bind off 3 (4, 5) sts at each shoulder edge 5 times. At same time, on first row of shoulder shaping, shape neck: work to center 50 sts, join another ball of yarn, bind off center 50 sts, work to end. Working both sides at same time, bind off 2 st at each neck edge twice. No sts remain.
Front:
work same as for back until armhole measures 4 3/4 (5, 5 1/2)” [12 (13, 14) cm. Shape neck: work to center 38 sts, join another ball of yarn, bind off center 38 sts, work to end. Working both sides at same time, bind off 4 sts at each neck edge once, 3 sts twice. When same length as back to shoulders, shape shoulders same as for back. No sts remain.
Sleeves:
cast on 74 sts and work in St st for 10 3/4“ [27 cm]. Shape sleeve: inc 1 st each end of needle on next row, then every foll 16th (12th, 8th) row 4 (6, 9) times more – 84 (88, 94) sts. When sleeve measures 9 3/4” [25 cm] from first increase, bind off all sts.
Finishing:
pin pieces to measurements and block with damp towels. With crochet hook, join yarn with sl st to lower front edge. Ch2, then work 97 (109, 121) sc along lower front edge. Next, work crocheted trim A according to chart A – 8 (9, 10) arches worked along lower front edge. Fasten off. Work same along lower back edge. With crochet hook, join yarn with sl st to lower sleeve edge. Ch2, then work 73sc along lower sleeve edge. Next, work crocheted trim A according to chart A – 6 arches worked along lower sleeve edge. Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams to armhole markers. With crochet hook, join yarn with sl st to neck edge at right shoulder. Ch2, then work 132sc around neck edge – 72sc at front neck edge and 60sc at back neck edge. Next, work crocheted trim B according to chart B – 6 arches worked at front neck edge, 5 arches at back neck edge. Sew sleeves between armhole markers, sew sleeve seams.
