Materials: Lana Grossa quality "New Cotton Lino", (50% cotton, 20% linen, 30% micro-fibers/polyamide, mt = 110 m/50 g), 450 (500) g khaki (col 507); Bändchengarn (ribbon yarn) "Sari" (100% polyamide, mt = 58 m/50 g) 100 g yellow/green/blue (col 303). One pair 5-5.5 mm needles, one 5 mm crochet hook, one blunt embroidery needle.
Stockinette stitch: K on right side, P on wrong side.
Jacquard pattern: work stocki-nette stitch for diagram, carry the yarn not in use on wrong side of work loosely.
Gauge: 17 sts and 23 rows to 10 cm or 4" square.
Front: cast on 78 (86) sts in khaki and cont in stockinette stitch. When work measures 25 (29) cm or 9 7/8 (11 1/2)" from beginning bind off for armholes at each end on every alt row 4 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st 2 (4) times = 62 (66) sts. When work measures 39 (43) cm or 15 3/8 (17)" from beginning bind off for neck the 10 center sts and finish each side separately. At neck edge bind off on every alt row 6 sts once, 3 sts once, 2 sts 3 times and 1 st once. When work measures 45 (49) cm or 17 3/4 (19 1/4)" from beginning bind off rem 10 (12) shoulder sts.
Back: work as for front except neck. When work measures 16 1/2 (18 1/8)" from beginning bind off for neck the 16 center sts. At neck edge bind off on every alt row 6 sts once, 2 sts 3 times and 1 st once. When work measures 45 (49) cm or 17 3/4 (19 1/4)" from beginning bind off rem 10 (12) shoulder sts.
Sleeves: cast on 54 sts in khaki and cont in stockinette stitch. For side shaping dec 1 st at each end on every 10th row 3 times and 1 st on every 8th row twice = 44 sts. When work measures 27 cm or 10 5/8" from beginning inc 1 st at each end, then 1 st on every 6th row twice and 1 st on every 4th row 5 times = 60 sts. When work measures 43 cm or 17" from beginning bind off for sleeve top at each end on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st twice, then 1 st on every 4th row 3 times and again on every alt row 1 st twice, 2 sts 4 times and 3 sts once. Bind off rem 14 sts.
Finishing: join shoulder, side and sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in position. Embroider flowers in "Sari" on all pieces, each flower with 7 lazy daisy sts over each time approx 2 cm or 13/16". Position as chosen or as shown. Along neck edge, sleeve edges and lower edge of sweater crochet in "Sari" as foll: * 2 sc, 1 sc approx 1.5 cm or 5/8" below, rep from*.
