Materials: Lana Grossa quality "Caramella" (50% cotton, 48% micro-fibers/polyamide, 2% polyester, mt = 80 m/50 g) 450 g white (col 1) and "New Cotton", 60% cotton, 40% micro-fibers/ polyamide, mt = 140 m/50 g) 100 g white (col 17). One pair size 5-5 _ mm needles, one long circular needle size 5 mm, one size 3 _ mm crochet hook and one button (from Union Knopf).
Stockinette stitch: K on right side, P on wrong side.
Relief patt: Rs: alt K1, P1. Return row: K all sts.
Gauge: relief patt: 16-17 sts and 27 rows to 10 cm or 4" square.
Right front: cast on 7 sts with "Caramella", cont in relief patt. For rounded hem work as foll: at right edge cast on on every alt row first 5 sts twice, then 3 sts 5 times, 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 5 times, at the same time after 3 cm or 1 1/8" from beginning (= after 8 rows) dec at left edge for side shaping 1 st on every 6th row 4 times. When work measures 14 cm or 5 _" work one buttonhole at right edge: after 3rd st from border 1 yo, K foll 2 sts tog.
Then start at right edge with neck shaping: dec 1 st on every 6th row 11 times, at the same time at left edge, after 21 cm or 8 _" from beginning inc again 1 st on every 6th row 4 times. When work measures 30 cm or 11 7/8" bind off for armhole at left edge on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st 6 times. At the end of neck shaping cont straight. When armhole measures 21 cm or 8 _" (= 51 cm or 20 1/8" from beginning) bind off for shoulder shaping at left edge on every alt row 4 sts 5 times.  
Left front: work in reverse to right front, without buttonhole.
Back: cast on 81 sts with "Caramella" and cont in relief patt. After 8 rows = 1 1/8" dec for side shaping 1 st at each end on every 6th row 4 times. When work measures 21 cm or 8 _" inc 1 st at each end on every 6th row 4 times. When work measures 30 cm or 11 7/8" shape armholes on either side as for fronts. When work measures 51 cm or 20 1/8" shape shoulder at each end as given, at the same time with beginning of 2nd shoulder dec bind off for neck the 11 center sts and finish each side separately. At neck edge bind off on every alt row 2 sts once and 1 st twice.
Sleeves: cast on 86 sts with "New Cotton" and work for flounce 11 rows stockinette stitch. On 12th row (= return row) K2 tog each time, cont over 43 sts with "Caramella" in relief patt. For sleeve shaping inc after 10 cm or 4" from beginning 1 st at each end on every 6th row 10 times = 63 sts. When work measures 33 cm or 13" bind off for sleeve top at each end on every alt row 2 sts twice and 1 st 5 times, then 1 st on every 4th row 6 times and again on every alt row 1 st twice, 2 sts twice, bind off rem 21 sts.
Finishing: join shoulder, side and sleeve seams, sew sleeves in position. Along lower edges, front edges and neck crochet in "New Cotton" 1 row sc. Then work for flounce with CN into each sc: K1 and K1 tbl (approx 34 sts over 10 cm or 4"), over all sts K 10 rounds, then bind off. Position flounce at slanting front and back neck edge over right side, steam as chosen. Sew on button.
