Materials: Lana Grossa "Linarte" (40% rayon, 30% cotton, 20% linen, 10% polyamide, running length = 137 yrd/50 g) 700 (800) g beige (col 5); knitting needles size 7; crochet hook size E-4.
Stockinette stitch: Work RS rows K and WS rows P.
Reversed stockinette stitch: Work RS rows P and WS rows K.
Lace band: Work across 3 sts. 1. row: Yo1, sl1 kwise, k2tog, then psso, yo1. 2. row: Work sts and yos P. Always rep 1. and 2. row.
Lace band pattern: Selv st, P4, * 3 sts lace band, 1 purl rib = 7 (8) sts rev stst, always rep from *, end row with 1 lace band, 4 sts rev stst, selv st.
Gauge: 26 sts and 29,5 rows in stst = 10 x 10 cm (approx 4" x 4"); 26,5 sts and 32,5 rows in peacock tail patt = 10 x 10 cm (approx 4" x 4").
Star pattern: No of sts divisible by 4 + 3. 1. row: Selv st, *K1, k3tog tbl but do not slip sts off needle but work yo1 on needle instead and make another K1 tbl across the 3 sts worked tog = 1 star; always rep from *, end row with K1, selv st. 2. and 4. row: Work sts and yos P. 3. row: Selv st, K3, *1 star, K1, always rep from *, end row with 1 star, K3, selv st. Always rep 1. – 4. row.
Gauge: Lace band patt: 20 sts and 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm (approx 4" x 4"); star patt: 25 sts and 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm (approx 4" x 4").
Sleeve: Cast on 123 (134) sts and work 1 WS row K. Then cont in lace band patt, thereby work patt rep 11 x = 12 lace bands and 11 purl ribs. For flared shape dec sts as indicated within purl ribs and on edges, innerhalb der Linksrippen und an den Rändern wie nachfolgend angegeben abnehmen, so that no of sts changes in purl ribs but stays the same for lace bands. In dec row A at 1., 3., 5., 7., 9. and 11. purl rib always ptog 1. and 2. st = 6 x 1 st dec in every 2. purl rib. Shift patt in dec row B. Therefore ptog 1. and 2. st after selv st, then ptog 1. and 2. st each after 12. lace band in 2., 4., 6., 8. and 10. purl rib and on left edge = 2 x 1 st dec on edges and 5 x 1 st dec at skipped purl ribs. In 43., 65. and 89 row work dec A, in between in 53. and 77. row work dec B, then only work dec B within purl ribs in 101. row, so that 2 sts in rev stst each remain on edges and 4 (5) sts each in purl ribs = 86 (97) sts altogether in 102. row. For side slants work as foll in 115. row: make 1 st and 1 st tbl across 1 st in purl ribs indicated in dec row A, in 129. row in purl ribs indicated in dec row B and additionally on edges, so that 5 sts per purl rib each and 3 sts on edges each are worked in rev stst = 99 (110) sts. When work measures 50 cm from beg leave all sts rem.
Front with sleeves and upper back piece: Until work measures 50 cm from beg work like back, then work 1 RS and 1 WS row K, thereby inc 24 (25) sts evenly in WS row = 123 (135) sts. In foll RS row leave initial 52 (58) sts rem up to underfly on right half, for band and left half of front cont in star patt across rem 71 (77) sts, thereby simultaneously work dec for neckline slant on inner edge and inc for sleeves on outer edge. For shaping neckline co *3 x 1 st and 1 x 2 sts in every 2. row, from * work 3 x, then co another 16 x 1 st each, so that 31 sts are dec for slant altogether. After 23,5 cm from beg shoulder and upper center of sleeve is reached, from here inc 1 x 1 st and 1 x 2 sts in every 2. row for shaping back of neckline. Simultaneously with beg of star patt inc 1 x 1, 1 x 4, 1 x 5, 1 x 6 sts and 1 x 82 (78) sts in every 2. row, so that 100 (96) sts are inc for sleeve altogether. After 2. inc leave 143 (145) sts of left half rem for back neckline. For right half pick up 52 (58) sts left rem and cast on another 19 sts on inner edge for underfly = 71 (77) sts. Then work in reverse to left half. After last inc for back rounding of neckline, after last cast on for back rounding of neckline cast on 37 sts for straight edge of back neckline, insert these sts between both halves and work 17 cm across all 323 (327) sts for upper back. Then co 82 (78) sts each for lower edge of sleeve on both sides, then another 1 x 6 sts, 1 x 5 sts, 1 x 4 sts and 1 x 3 sts in every 2. row. Work 1 RS row K and 1 WS row K across rem 123 (135) sts, thereby dec 24 (25) sts evenly in WS row. Leave rem 99 (110) sts rem.
Finishing: Crochet 1 rnd sc and 1 rnd crab sts (= sc worked from left to right) across edge of neckline. Substitute 1. sc of each rnd by 2 chain sts and join each rnd into a ring with 1 knit st into top turning chain. Sew tog upper back piece with lower back piece. To do so place pieces on top of each other RS facing RS and ktog 1 st of upper back piece with 1 st of lower back piece thereby co sts evenly. Join seams.
