Materials: Lana Grossa "Belfilo" (40% cotton, 45% rayon, 10% linen, 5% polyamide, running length approx 153 yrd/50 g): approx 600 g dark brown (col 22); knitting needles size 4, 1 circular knitting needles size 4, 60 cm long, 1 crochet hook size E-4.
Garter stitch: Work RS and WS rows K.
Stockinette stitch: Work RS rows K, WS rows P.
Peacock tail patt: Work acc knitting chart. Figures on right side indicate RS rows, in WS rows work sts and yos P. Horizontally start rows with st before 1. arrow, always work indicated patt rep = 18 sts between arrows, end row with st foll 2. arrow. Vertically always rep 1st – 4th row, work 5. – 36. row 1x. Chart shows acc co on both sides in every 6. row for slants.
Accented cast off: Right edge: Selv st, k2tog. Left edge: sl1 kwise, K1, psso, selv st.
Gauge: 26 sts and 29,5 rows in stst = 10 x 10 cm (approx 4" x 4"); 26,5 sts and 32,5 rows in peacock tail patt = 10 x 10 cm (approx 4" x 4").
Back: Cast on 182 sts. Work 2 rows in garter st first. Then cont with 11 cm = 36 rows in peacock tail patt, thereby co 6x 1 st each with acc co for hip roundings on both sides acc knitting chart = 170 sts. Then work 26 cm = 76 rows in stst, thereby co another 12x 1 st each in every 6. row with acc co = 146 sts. Now work a 2. stripe in peacock tail patt across 6 cm = 16 rows, thereby co 1 st on each side in 1. row and 2x 1 st each in every 6. row and work acc co, basically like 1. stripe of patt = 140 sts and make sure that sts are not automatically inc again by yos. Now cont in stst, thereby co 1 st on each side in 1. row and another 9x 1 st each in every 6. row and work acc co = 120 sts. After 20 cm = 60 rows from end of 2. stripe of peacock tail patt co 2 sts on each side for armholes, then co another 5x 1 st each in every 2nd row = 98 sts. When armhole measures 22 cm = 66 rows co all sts straight.
Front: Work like back but with pointed neckline. Therefore divide work at the same time as beg of armholes and finish both sides separately. For slant co 22 x 1 st each in every 2. row at inner edge and in every 4th row co another 5x 1 st each. When armholes measure 22 cm = 66 rows co rem 22 shoulder sts. Finish other side in reverse. Join shoulder seams first.
Sleeve:Work acc knitting chart in direction of arrow from top to bottom! Pick up 116 sts each from edges of armholes with circular knitting needle. Work stst, thereby start with 1 WS row. For slants co 15x 1 st each in every 2. row from beg of armhole and another 13x 1 st each in every 4. row on both sides and work acc co = 60 sts. After 28 cm = 83 rows from beg of sleeve cont in peacock tail patt, thereby inc 2 sts stst each after and before selv st. After 9 cm = 29 rows from beg of peacock tail patt work another 3 rows in garter st, thereby co sts loosely in last row.
Finishing:Block piece, dampen and allow to dry. Join sleeve-side seams. Crochet 1 rnd of sc and 1 rnd of crab sts = sc worked from left to right across edge of neckline. Join each rnd with 1 knit st.
