Materials: Lana Grossa quality "Croisette", 40% cotton, 30% micro-fibers, 30% polyamide, approx 500 (550) g rose (col 7), one pair size 6 mm needles and one size 4.5 mm crochet hook.
Basic pattern: stockinette stitch (K on right side, P on wrong side).
Zigzag border: see diagram 1. Only right side rows are given. On wrong side work sts as set, P yo´s. Rep rows 1 - 16. 1 square = 1 st and 2 rows.
Ajoure border: see diagram 2. Right side and wrong side rows are given, K yo´s. Rep rows 1 - 6 for pattern. 1 square = 1 st and 2 rows.
Visible dec: right edge: edge st, K2, 1 double resp. 1 simple slip dec (= slip 1 knitwise, K2 tog resp. K1, psso). Left edge: K tog 3 resp. 2 sts, K2, edge st.
Gauge: 16 sts and 25 rows to 10 cm or 4" square (basic pattern with 6 mm needles).
Left front: cast on 52 (60) sts with 6 mm needles and cont in basic pattern. For neck shaping dec at left edge 2 sts once on 3rd row, then dec on every alt row 2 sts 2 (3) times, 1 st 24 (26) times, then 1 st on every 4th row 7 times, working visible dec, at the same time inc for side shaping at right edge 1 st alt on every 6th and 8th row 5 times. Then work measures 16 (17) cm or 6 1/4 (6 3/4)" bind off for armhole 3 sts at right edge once, then dec on every alt row 2 sts twice and 1 st 2 (4) times, working visible dec. When work measures 36 (38) cm or 14 1/8 (15)" from beginning bind off rem 11 (13) sts.
Right front: work in reverse to left front.
Back: cast on 63 (71) sts with 6 mm needles and cont in basic pattern. For side shaping inc 1 st alt on every 6th and 8th row 5 times. When work measures 16 (17) cm or 6 1/4 (6 3/4)" from beginning bind off for armholes 3 sts at each end once, then dec on every alt row 2 sts twice and 1 st 2 (4) times, working visible dec. When work measures 34 (36) cm or 13 1/4 (14 1/8)" from beginning bind off rem 11 (13) sts.
Sleeves: cast on 46 (50) sts with 6 mm needles and cont in basic pattern. For sleeve shaping inc 1 st at each end on every 4th row 6 times. When work measures 11 cm or 4 1/4" from beginning bind off for sleeve top at each end on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts once (twice), 1 st 12 times, 2 sts once and 3 sts once. When work measures 24 (25) cm or 9 1/2 (9 7/8)" from beginning bind off rem sts. Work 2nd sleeve alike.
Ajoure pattern borders: for zigzag and ajoure pattern border cast on 30 sts with 6 mm needles. P 1 return row, then work first 10 sts foll diagram 1, foll 20 sts foll diagram 2. NOTE: on diagram 1 every alt row is given, on diagram 2 on every row is given! For sleeves work 2 borders each approx 32 (34) cm or 12 1/2 (13 1/4)" long, for back and fronts work a border of approx 110 (124) cm or 44 (49)".
Finishing: block pieces to measurements and cover with a damp cloth. Join shoulder, sleeve and side seams, in left side seam leave approx 1 cm or 3/8" open for passage of ribbon. Sew sleeves in position. Gather sleeve border to approx 27 (29) cm or 10 5/8 (11 1/2)", border for back and fronts for 102 (114) cm or 41 (45)", sew to resp. lower edges. Along neck back crochet 1 row crab sts (= sc from left to right). Crochet a ribbon at right front between ajoure border and basic pattern: 1 row ch, 34 (38) cm or 13 1/4 (15)" long, 1 row slip sts back. Work 2nd ribbon alike, 84 (88) cm or 33 (34 1/2)" long at left front.
