Twin and Tre Sweater

Materials:

LANA GROSSA yarn "Twin", 35% cotton, 30% micro-fibres (acrylic), 30% viscose, 5% polyamide, about 350(400) g orange/green (col 607) and "Tre", 60% cotton, 40% micro-fibres, about 50 g each green (col 19) and orange (col 28), one pair 8 mm needles.

Border patt: gst (K all rows).
Basic patt: stst (K on Rs, P on Ws).
Stripe sequence 1: 4 rows basic patt in "Twin", 2 rows "Tre" border patt in green, 4 rows basic patt in "Twin", 2 rows border patt in "Tre".
Stripe sequence 2: 2 rows border patt in "Tre" orange, 4 rows basic patt in "Twin", 2 rows border patt in "Tre" green, 4 rows basic patt in "Twin", 2 rows border patt in "Tre" orange.
Tension: 10 sts and 13 rows to 10 cm square (basic patt in "Twin" using 8 mm needles).
Front: cast on 49(56) sts using 8 mm needles in "Tre" orange and work 3 rows in border patt. Cont in stripe sequence 1. Then cont in "Twin" basic patt. Wwm 33(35) cm cast off for armholes at each end on every alt row 2 sts once and 1 st 3 times. Wwm 55(58) cm cast off all sts loosely.
Back: proceed as given for front.
To make up 1: join shoulder seams over 8 cm on either side.
Sleeves: work sleeves from top to below. Along each side of back and front, about 22(23) cm on either side of shoulder seam, pick up 23(24) sts each using 8 mm needles in "Twin" = 46(48) sts. cont in basic patt. For sleeve shaping cast off 1 st at each end on every 8th row 5 times. Wwm 32 cm cont in stripe sequence 2. Wwm 40 cm cast off all sts loosely. Work 2nd sleeve alike.
To make up 2: join side and sleeve seams.
