Lana Grossa quality "Pallone", 70%
cotton, 30% micro-fibres (polyamide), approx. 400(450) g beige (col 6), one pair 4.5 mm
needles and one 3.5 mm crochet hook.
Basic pattern: number of sts multiple of 12 + 2 + edge sts. See diagram. Only right side
rows are given. Unless given otherwise in legend: on return rows P all sts. Rep rows 1-20.
1 square = 1 st and 2 rows.

cast on 10(15) sts with 4.5 mm
needles and cont in basic pattern, working sts from right edge as foll: edge st, first 6
sts of diagram, first 2 sts of patt g, edge st (edge st, 5 sts stockinette stitch, first 6
sts of diagram, first 2 sts of patt g, edge st). Inc at left edge on every alt row 2 sts
27 times and 1 st twice = 66(71) sts. Work inc sts in basic pattern. After 25 cm or
10" from beginning bind off for neck shaping at left edge 1 st once, then on every
alt row 2 sts 4 times(2 sts twice), then 1 st 30 times(1 st 34 times). When work measures
37 cm or 14 1/2" from beginning bind off for armhole at right egde 4(5) sts once,
then on every alt row 2 sts once(2 sts twice) and 1 st twice. When work measures 56(58) cm
or 22(22 7/8)" from beginning bind off rem 19(21) sts. |

cast on 76(86) sts with 4.5 mm
needles and cont in basic pattern, working from right edge as foll: edge st, first 6 sts
of diagram, rep patt g 5 times, last 8 sts of diagram(edge st, 5 sts stockinette stitch,
first 6 sts of diagram, rep patt g 5 times, last 8 sts of diagram, 5 sts stockinette
stitch, edge st). When work measures 37 cm or 14 1/2" from beginning bind off for
armholes 4(5) sts at each end once, then on every alt row 2 sts once(2 sts twice) and 1 st
twice. When work measures 53(55) cm or 20 7/8(21 3/4)" from beginning bind off for
neck the 10 center sts. For shaping bind off 2 sts on every alt row 3 times. When work
measures 56(58) cm or 22(22 7/8)" from beginning bind off rem 19(21) sts. |
| Sleeves: |
cast on 40 sts with 4.5 mm needles
and cont in basic pattern as foll: edge st, first 6 sts of diagram, rep patt g twice, last
8 sts of diagram, edge st. After 20 cm or 7 7/8" from beginning inc for sleeve
shaping 1 st at each end once, then 1 st on every 8th row 4 times and 1 st on every 6th
row 3 times(1 st on every 6th row 4 times and 1 st on every 4th row 6 times). Work inc sts
as far as possible in basic pattern. When work measures 44 cm or 17 1/4" from
beginning bind off for sleeve top 3(4) sts at each end once, then on every alt row 2 sts
once and 1 st twice, 1 st on every 4th row twice and again on every alt row 1 st 6 times,
2 sts once and 3(4) sts once. When work measures 58 cm or 22 7/8" from beginning bind
off rem 16(18) sts. Work 2nd sleeve alike. |
| Finishing: |
block pieces to measurements, cover
with a damp cloth and leave to dry. Join seams, in right seam leave a 2 cm or 13/16"
long slit after 25 cm or 10" from beginning. Along front edges, neck and lower edge
of back crochet 1 round sc and 1 round crab sts (= sc from left to right). Along sleeve
borders crochet 1 round loop pattern. Knit 2 ribbons. 1st ribbon: approx. 35(39) cm or 13
3/4(15 3/8)" long = 62(70) sts, 2nd ribbon: approx. 100(105) cm or 39 3/8(41
3/8)" long = 184(193) sts. Cast on sts and work 8 rows garter stitch. Bind off. Sew
short ribbon to point of right front (= overlap), long ribbon to point to left front (=
underlap). |
