Materials: Lana Grossa quality "Opaco Print", 100% micro-fibres (polyamide) approx 450 (550) g yellow-green/rust (col 204) and "Opaco" approx 50 g green (col 5),
one pair 9 mm needles, one 6 mm crochet hook and 4 (5) buttons.
Basic patt: 1st row: K. 2nd row: K. 3rd row: edge st, * K1, 1 st below (= insert needle into foll st 1 row below and K), rep from *. 4th row: edge st, * with right-hand needle pick up the yarn at front of st below and K tog with st, K1, rep from *, edge st. 5th row: edge st, * 1 st below, K1, rep from *, edge st. 6th row: edge st, * K1, with right-hand needle pick up yarn at front of st below and K tog with st, rep from *, edge st. Rep rows 3 - 6 for patt. P edge sts on right side and wrong side rows.
Gauge: 10 sts and 22 rows to 10 cm or 4" square (basic patt with 9 mm needles).
Left front: Cast on 24 (28) sts using 9 mm needles in yellow-green/rust and cont in basic patt. When work measures 26 (30) cm or 10 ¼ (11 7/8)" bind off at right edge 2 (4) sts once, then for raglan 1 st on every 4th row 12 (13) times. When work measures 45 (51) cm or 17 ¾ (20 1/8)" bind off for neck at left edge 5 (6) sts once, then on every alt row 2 sts twice and 1 st once.
Right front: Work as given for left front, working in reverse.
Back: cast on 48 (54) sts using 9 mm needles in yellow-green/rust and cont in basic patt. When work measures 26 (30) cm or 10 ¼ (11 7/8)" bind off 2 (4) sts at each end once, then for raglan 1 st on every 4th row 12 (13) times and 1 st on every alt row twice. When work measures 50 (56) cm or 19 5/8 (22)" bind off rem sts.
Left sleeve: Cast on 30 sts using 9 mm needles in yellow-green/rust and cont in basic patt. When work measures 18 cm or 7 1/8" inc for sleeve shaping 1 st at each end on every 10th row 4 times (1 st on every 10th row twice, then 1 st on every 8th row 4 times). When work measures 42 (44) cm or 16 ½ (17 ¼)" bind off 2 (4) sts at each end once, then for raglan at right edge 1 st on every 4th row 12 (13) times, then on every alt row 1 st twice, at left edge on every 4th row 1 st 12 (13) times. When work measures 64 (68) cm or 25 1/8 (26 ¼)" bind off 2 sts at left edge once, then 2 sts on every alt row 3 times. Work right sleeve in reverse.
Left half of hood: Cast on 5 sts using 9 mm needles in yellow-green/rust and cont in basic patt. For side shaping inc 1 st at right edge on every alt row 7 times. When work measures 28 cm or 11" bind off at right edge 3 sts on every alt row 7 times. Slip rem sts onto a length of yarn. Work right half of hood in reverse.
Finishing: Graft tog the idle sts of hood halves, join back seam of hood. Crochet tog rem seams on right side with sc in green, crochet hood to neck. Along front edges and edge of hood crochet in green 1 row sc and 1 row crab sts (= sc from left to right), on 1st row work at right front 4 (5) buttoning loops (= 3 ch, miss 3 sts), 1 st loop after 11 (12) cm or 4 ¼ (4 ¾)" from beginning, rem loops spaced 9 cm or 3 5/8" apart. Sew on buttons.
