alt K1, P1, K1, edge st. 2nd row (= return row): edge st, * slip foll st with 1 yo
purlwise, K1, rep from *, slip foll st with 1 yo purlwise, edge st. 3rd row (= right
side): edge st, * K tog yo and slipped st of previous row, P1,rep from *, K tog yo and
slipped st of previous row, edgest. Rep rows 2 and 3. P edge sts on right side and wrong

Half fisherman´s rib
with cable: |
work foll diagram. Only right side
rows are given, on return row work sts in half fisherman´s rib. Back and fronts: work
rows 1 - 16: 4 times, then rows 1 - 14 once = 78 rows. Sleeve: work rows 1 - 16: 3 times,
then rows 1 - 8 once = 56 rows. 1 square = 1 st and 2 rows. |
| Pocket lining: |
cast on 25 sts with 4 mm needles and
work 12 cm or 4 3/4" in stockinette stitch (K on right side, P on wrong side). Slip
all sts onto a length of yarn. |

20 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm or 4"
square (basic pattern, 4 mm needles). |
| Left front: |
cast on 53 (59) sts with 4 mm
needles and cont in basic pattern. After 14 cm or 5 1/2" work for pocket opening from
right edge as foll: edge st, 11 (15) sts basic pattern, bind off foll 25 sts, insert sts
of pocket lining,work rem sts in basic pattern. On foll return row cont over all sts in
basic pattern. On foll right side row work as foll: edge st, 7 (11) sts basic pattern, 37
sts half fisherman´s rib with cable = patt g 3 times + last st of diagram, 7 (9) sts
basic pattern, edge st. After 78 rows half fisherman´s rib with cable cont over all sts
in basic pattern. After 36 (38) cm or 14 1/8 (15)"mark for lapel inc at left edge the
9th st, at the same time after 36 (37) cm or 14 1/8 (14 1/2)" bind off for armhole at
right edge 3 sts once. Then bind on every alt row 2 sts once, 1 st 3 times and on every
4th row 1 st 4 times. For lapel inc K1 tbl after marked st, from there exchange from
marked st to front edge = work right side row as wrong side row and vice versa.After

needles and cont in basic pattern. After 14 cm or 5 1/2" + 2 rows cont as foll: edge
st, 7 (11) sts basic pattern, 85 sts fisherman´s rib with cable = patt g 7 times + last
st of diagram, 7 (11) sts basic pattern, edge st. After 78 rows half fisherman´s rib with
cable cont over all sts in basic pattern. When work measures 36 (37) cm or 14 1/8 (14
1/2)" bind off for armholes 3 sts once and each end once, then on every alt row 2 sts
once, 1 st 3 times, 1 st on every 4th row 4 times.When work measures 56 (58) cm or 22 (22
7/8)" bind off for neck the 21 center sts. At neck edge bind off on every alt row 3
sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st once. At the same time, after 56 (58) cm or 22 (22

cast on 55 sts with 4 mm needles.
Cont in basic pattern.
After 8 cm or 3 1/8" cont as foll: edge st, 8 sts basic pattern, 37 sts fisherman´s
rib with cable = 3 times patt g + last st of diagram, 8 sts basic pattern, edge st. After
56 rows cont over all sts in basic pattern. After 15 cm or 6" inc for sleeve shaping
1 st at each end once, then 1 st on every 10th row 9 times (1 st on every 10th row 4 times
and 1 st on every 8th row 7 times). After 44 cm or 17 1/4" bind off for sleeve top at
each end on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts twice, 1 st 7 times, 1 st on every 4th row
twice and again on every alt row 1 st 7 times and 2 sts twice. When work measures 57 cm or
22 1/2" from beginning bind off rem sts. Work 2nd sleeve alike. |
| Finishing: |
block pieces to measurements and
cover with a damp cloth. Join all seams. For collar pick up round neck (8 cm or 3 1/8"
of lapel point remain free) with 4 mm needles on wrong side 85 sts and work 10 cm or
4" in basic pattern. Bind off all sts. Attach pocket linings unvisible to fronts. Sew
on buttons. |
