Materials: Lana Grossa quality "Dasolo" (87% merino extra fine, 13% polyamide, mt = 75 m/50 g) 600 (650) g turquoise (col 15), one pair size 8 mm needles, one size 8 mm circular needle.
Rib pattern: alt K2, P2.
Cable pattern: work foll chart.
Gauge: rib pattern: 14 sts and 17 rows to 10 cm or 4" square.
Front: cast on 66 (74) sts and cont as foll: edge st, P1, 14 (18) sts rib pattern, 34 sts cable pattern foll chart (from 5th row = 38 sts), 14 (18) sts rib patt, P1, edge st. When work measures 41 cm or 16 1/8" from beginning bind off for armholes at each end on every alt row 4 sts once, 3 sts once and 1 st twice (4 sts once, 3 sts once, 2 sts once and 1 st 4 times = 52 sts. When work measures 56 cm or 22" from beginning bind off for neck the 8 center sts and finish each side separately. At neck edge bind off on every alt row 4 sts once, 3 sts once and 1 st twice. When work measures 62 cm or 24 3/8" from beginning bind off rem shoulder sts.
Back: proceed as given for front except neck. When work measures 59 cm or 23 1/4" bind off for neck the 16 center sts. At neck edge bind off on every alt row 3 sts once and 2 sts once. When work measures 62 cm or 24 3/8" bind off rem shoulder sts.
Sleeves: cast on 42 sts and cont in rib patt, starting after edge st with P1 and ending before edge st with P1. When work measures 30 cm or 11 7/8" inc for side shaping 1 st at each end, then 1 st on every 4th row 4 times and 1 st on every alt row twice = 56 sts. When work measures 43 cm or 17" from beginning bind off for sleeve top at each end on every alt row 3 sts once, 2 sts once, 1 st 6 times, 2 sts twice and 3 sts twice, then bind off rem 14 sts.
Finishing: join shoulder, side and sleeve seams, sew sleeves in position. For collar pick up round neck with circular needle 64 sts and work approx 24 cm or 9 1/2" in rib patt, then bind off loosely.
